A Guide to the Best CryptoArt Marketplaces – Which is Best For You?

Are you wondering how CryptoArt marketplaces differ? You’ve landed in the right place then. If you are trying to decide which platform to use to create an NFT but you don’t know what each platform offers and which one is best for your art, this guide compares all the major CryptoArt platforms and what they offer.

If you’re looking for information on how to create an NFT/CryptoArt, read this article

In the following article we cover OpenSea, MakersPlace, KnownOrigin, Nifty Gateway, Rarible, Foundation, ArtBlocks, ASync Art, Portion, Cargo, Mintbase and Mintable.

For budget-friendly NFT art marketplaces that are not on the Ethereum blockchain, see our guide on alternative platforms here.

opensea

OpenSea is the first and largest marketplace for crypto collectibles and NFTs. Think of it as the one-stop shop for all kinds of digital items. It is open to all creators and there is no curation. One of the best features of this platform is that it allows for gas-free minting. However, since there is no curation, if you’re an artist, you’ll have to be really good at marketing or your artworks will be floating somewhere in the…open sea.

rarible

artblocks

Art Blocks is one of the most unique generative art platforms out there, and artists that apply to be part of the platform need to know a thing or two about coding. It works by artists writing a code that is merged into the platform, which then generates different combinations of the variables at random. Collectors don’t know what they’re getting ahead of time, they first have to mint tokens before they can see what they are receiving. This is to give everyone a chance to collect art that they might not otherwise be able to afford.

Blockchain: Ethereum

Payment: $ETH

What happened to Viv3 Marketplace built on FLOW by the incredible Dapper Lab team? VIV3 is actually not as well known yet…we’re hoping to nip at their heels once we launch. Solid article!

Hey! Thank you, glad you liked it! There are so many marketplaces, so I think I will have to do another one on alternative marketplaces that are not on the Ethereum blockchain 🙂
