Venice Carnival Partners with Ready Player Me to Enter the Metaverse

The party may be ending after almost three weeks of fun; however, even those that didn’t get a chance to participate in the Venice Carnival can experience it virtually and collect some digital souvenirs along the way. This is thanks to a partnership between Venice Carnival and Ready Player Me, a platform that allows visitors to create full-body 3D avatars by taking a selfie and using it on the Metaverse.

The partnership is part of the Venice Virtual Carnival initiative that will allow visitors to create digital identities or avatars and experience the historic event in the Metaverse. It doesn’t matter where participants are located globally, as they will be able to dress up their avatars and be part of the party.

Therefore, participants can expect to dress their avatars in iconic costumes of Venetian tradition, such as Colombina and Arlecchino. These limited-edition 3D crafted masks and costumes are available in classic versions with traditional colors or in a premium gold version. Once visitors are done dressing their avatars, they can move them to any Metaverse that is compatible with Ready Player Me, thus bringing the magic of the Venice Carnival everywhere. It’s worth noting that this collaboration is similar to the carnival’s partnership with Roblox, in which visitors can dress up their digital avatars in masks and show them off in the Metaverse.

Participants Can Purchase Various Accessories At The Official Venice Carnival Shop

That said, participants can visit the official shop and buy the Venice Carnival digital products to don their avatars. These range from skins and masks to special special Arlecchino to Colombina bundles, each available indefinitely for those looking to spice up their Web3 identity.

Additionally, visitors can collect a digital carnival souvenir by snapping up the holographic card of the Original Sign mask. The hologram is printed with the latest technology, allowing buyers to see the magic of an immersive metaverse experience through a physical memorabilia. These holographic cards can be bought online or at the Tourist Information and Reception Offices in Venice.

The Venice Carnival is held annually to celebrate the cultural heritage of Venice. The event creates a magical atmosphere in Venice by having participants dress up in traditional costumes and parade through the streets to celebrate freedom of expression and creativity. Now, thanks to the Venice Virtual Carnival, anyone from around the world can participate in this magical event all year long.
