Sony Launches Incubator Program to Bring Web3 Initiatives to Japan

Sony has unveiled a new incubator program in partnership with Japanese blockchain, Astar Network, and its frequent collaborator Startale Labs. The exiting proposition will look to accelerate digital transformation in the heart of Tokyo and the Cosmize Metaverse with a ‘Demo Day’ taking place on June 18. 

Sony’s subsidiary specializing in IT solutions and software development, Sony Network Communications, is ready to operate the program, which is open to global companies needing financial and technical support. The demo day will tailor to each project’s development needs, regardless of where they are in their business cycles, representing forward-thinking approaches to support the next generation of digital innovations.

Sony and Astar to Cultivate Global Innovation

Sony and its partners have cherry-picked 19 promising ventures from an initial pool of 200 for the upcoming event. At which, each firm will present their projects, allowing investors to delve into the inner workings of each proposition. As a result, creating a platform where cutting-edge ideas are showcased and challenged through compelling discussions, fostering an environment of innovation.

To offer a rich and broad perspective, Sony has invited all corporations interested in Web3 initiatives to come and gain valuable insights from venture capital firms alongside pioneering blockchain-based companies. Additionally, the program will provide mentorship sessions focusing on business and technology strategies. 

Sony’s incubator program presents a significant trend in the Japanese business sector. Last year, Japan’s Prime Minister, Fumio Kishida, identified the advantages of Web3 initiatives to boost the country’s economy.
