Pioneering audio platform, Gala Music, has announced the imminent arrival of a previously unreleased version of David Bowie’s 1983 smash hit “Let’s Dance” as an NFT. The move comes in partnership with Warner Chappell Music and Larry Dvoskin, and the limited edition NFTs will be sold on a pay-as-you-wish basis and showcase Bowie-inspired artwork. All initial proceeds from the sales will go towards supporting the MusiCares charity.

On April 14th, 40 years after the original release of “Let’s Dance,” Gala Music will launch 3,003 NFTs, granting access to an unreleased version of the song.
In 2002, Larry Dvoskin co-produced the track and later proposed issuing it as an NFT to Bowie’s estate. Surprisingly, the executor gave the green light and the new project was born. The decision was then reinforced on the discovery of an email from Bowie himself, in which he expressed eagerness for the recording to circulate.

Warner Chappell Music is about to achieve a significant milestone by releasing an NFT featuring the unheard version of “Let’s Dance.” The music label’s latest endeavor marks its “first completely native NFT agreement” for a song that has never been available in any physical or digital format. This exclusive version of the classic hit will only be accessible through the NFT release, offering fans a unique opportunity to own a piece of music history.
Bowie’s estate has already dipped its toes in the world of NFTs, collaborating with OpenSea in September 2022 to launch “Bowie on the Blockchain,” a collection of NFTs that also raised funds for charity. Although the initiative faced backlash from fans who believed it did not align with Bowie’s values.
