The biggest LAND sale in the metaverse took place yesterday with investor firm “Republic Realm” purchasing a plot in “Decentraland” for $913 000 dollars.
The plot of land sold for 1.25 million of the in-game currency $MANA. It is the highest valued sale in terms of $USD so far. Located in the Dragon Kingdom district, plans for the LAND are being kept under wraps. However, Twitter rumblings seem to be hinting at something “big”.
Republic Realm is an investment firm that specializes in digital real-estate in decentralized worlds. The company itself is an offshoot of “Republic,” an online investment agency serving the likes of Binance and Angel List.
How long this record will last however, is unclear. As the previous record was held for a grand total of two weeks by blockchain protocol, Boson. Earlier in June, they purchased a plot in the lucrative “Vegas City” for $704k, where they intend to build a shopping mall.
The current Decentraland real-estate record in terms of $MANA still stands at 2.772 million, and if Decentraland keeps growing the way it has to date, this record may stand forever.
One thing we do know is all this investment can only mean good news for fans of the Decentraland metaverse.
